Perth - a busy Market Town

The small market town Perth in Perthshire is known as St John's Town or even as the Fair City.

Perth's city centre is flanked by two public parks - the North and South Inches - which are situated along the banks of the river Tay. Perth also has a wide variety of shops, which are situated in graceful Georgian terraced houses and an exquisite selection of theatres and galleries.

Located all around the city are a range of historical sites, such as the Palace of Scone. It is also possible to experience the wild romantic landscapes of the Highlands with their misty lochs and picturesque glens or to follow the footsteps of William Wallace, the legendary Scottish national hero, nowadays known as Braveheart.
