Stirling - Gateway to the Highlands

Thinking of Scotland brings to mind pictures of bagpipes, whisky, men"in skirts" throwing tree trunks, as well as the open Highlands. These are the typical stereotypes, which were implanted in our minds through several film such as "Highlander

But Scotland is more than that. This part of the United Kingdom, which for several centuries had persistently fought for its independence, forms a perfect symbiotic relationship between history, incredible landscapes and modern lifestyle.

Stirling is considered the gateway to the Highlands and was the main residence of the Scottish monarchy until the Union of the Crowns in 1603. Stirling Castle offers a tremendous view over historical battlefields such as Stirling Bridge where William Wallace defeated the English Army. Come and explore the Wallace country!
