Shrewsbury is considered England’s finest Tudor town because of its well-preserved half-timbered houses. Many of the buildings in Shrewsbury are under monumental protection creating the town's special image.
Walking through its narrow winding lanes and cobbled streets, you will feel like you have stepped back in time. You will follow in the footsteps of Shrewsbury’s most famous son, the naturalist Charles Darwin who we all know as the developer of the 'Theory of Evolution'.
This historic island is set in a loop of the River Severn and offers a wide range of historic scenery, such as Ironbridge a small town just a little further down the river. It was from here that the Industrial Revolution began to spread over the whole of Britain.
