Our Company
Story of Senlac 1066

A school trip to Hastings lead to the founding of SENLAC Tours. Angelika arrived as teacher with a school group in Hastings, met Bryan and stayed. Over 36 years ago Angelika and Bryan set the foundation for a successful company. This was possible as Bryan already had longstanding experience in tourism as he was a director of Study Tours and Angelika brought along the knowledge from her teaching years in Berlin. Right from the start students and teachers came first. Each school trip or teacher trip were and still are built around the individual needs of the group.

Today SENLAC Tours has offices in three countries. It is very important to us to have a personal contact to our customers. We make it possible to exchange culture, as we are Germans and Swiss people living with our English partners in the UK. We can offer exclusive insider knowledge to help plan your trip.

SENLACS TEAM
Yesterday and today
Host families in England
We have known some of our host families for over 20 years. In many cases it’s the 3rd generation of the family working with us and we have become good friends. Not only our customers, teachers and students can contact us 24 hours on the emergency phone.
1066 William the Conqueror
In our free time we can relax in the beautiful landscape of 1066 Country. We climb the hill Senlac in Battle, where William the Conqueror defeated King Harold. In the High Street we visit the "Battle Museum of Local History".
Hiking in England
Our favorite sport at any time of the year in is hiking. One of the most beautiful trails in Sussex is the 1066 Path. The section from Rye to Hastings is 21 kilometers long and offers breathtaking views from the Country Parc.
School trips to England
Our favorite activity is giving a personal service. For some schools we have been working for more than 25 years. We are still happy to welcome our groups directly at the bus. Our experience benefits our guests.
Hostel in the House of Horizons
The "Münster" cathedral of Bad Doberan is only a few minutes walk from our office. We personally supervise school trips and day trips to Bad Doberan on site.
Internship in England

Those were the days before BREXIT. An internship was possible without a visa. We hope for new entry regulations, so that high school graduates and students can do internships in England again.

Our lambs

We had our own sheep in the meadows by the house for over 25 years. A lawn mower was superfluous. Every year we could see lambs growing up.

Teacher trips to Scotland

We are often in Scotland, Yorkshire and the Lake District. For our teachers and "friends of the island" we have planned and supervised trips to Cornwall, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

Class trip to Hastings

One of the most beautiful places on the Sussex coast is Hastings. The journey is short from Dover and we can welcome our guests personally.

London sightseeing tours

We know all the places of excursions and are happy to accompany our groups on their excursions. Our English colleagues give lessons in the local language with typical British humor.

1066 Country

The landscape is impressive and breathtakingly beautiful everywhere. Short trips and walks during the lunch break have made the boundaries between work and leisure disappear.

Hastings bus parking

An unusual sight - Falaise Road without buses during the pandemic. Fortunately, from 2022 groups will be able to travel to England again and this sight will be a thing of the past.

Mecklenburg Lake District

We are all happy on and around the water and try all the sports ourselves that our guests might enjoy.

We travel again

Our last trip before Corona still allowed togetherness without distance. Our next destination will be Barcelona again.

Group trip to Berlin

As a team we tried hanging yoga and team escape. Our English colleagues were impressed by the escape tunnels.

We visited the Speicherstadt, the harbor and the Binnenalster. The ferry ride to the Lion King was as impressive as the musical.

Our team and host families visited the Christmas market by coach. A day with feasting and enjoy.

Senlac Tours Netherlands
We work closely with Senlac Tours NL. The colleagues help with the planning and booking for school trips to the Netherlands and end of year trips to Heino. Michiel and his team have a lot of experience with flights and trips to France. The schools from the Netherlands love school trips to Berlin.
