School trip to Hamburg
Moin moin - Harbour city Hamburg

The harbour of Hamburg is the biggest in Germany. For over 800 years it has acted as Hamburg’s gate to the world. On the River Elbe, the ships sail to the North Sea and then on to the Atlantic. The River Alster snakes through the historical old town and many canals, called fleets, and can be discovered on boat trips.

There are plenty of places along the shore to explore. The Jungfernstieg, an upmarket shopping street, is situated right by the water. The St. Pauli district is the most famous of the seven very different neighbourhoods of Hamburg.
